Looking back at my highest my weight was 155 when I joined FS. I set my goal at 135 and reached it, reset, reached and ended up at about 120. I held it there for a while (as long as I was logging my food). I said I would never stop logging but like so many others I slacked off and then completely stopped. I weighed in at 127 and didn't come back here until I felt my dryer was shrinking my pants 🤷🏼‍♂️. Then my oh crap moment when I stepped on that scale and it was 137 which is 17 pound gain due to not counting calories of what I put in my body. So... I'm proudly and happily back to logging my food and eating better food as well as portions. Excited to be here again. This time I truly believe I'm here for good. 😊

I have been loosely managing and tracking my food intake, primarily with a nutritional focus, for over 30 years. After a while it becomes normal. I’m not a fanatic, if I go out to eat or make some complicated I just follow my portion control philosophy and call it good. Obsession can become a problem if you let it.

Wow! Thanks for sharing and you're sooooo right! Makes a huge difference if you don't log! I always have proven results when I'm disciplined but I'm not. I struggle because I love food especially donuts and fudge cakes too much! However I haven't bought any in almost three weeks now so I'm better 🤣

It's sometimes tedious but a necessity for weight loss and especially when we are in maintenance.

Awesome. I just had a 3 day struggle of logging my food. I'm at the end of it now. You got this because we know we need it.

Thank you for sharing your journal. I feel you. I also stopped calorie counting and intake recording. Although I didn't eat unhealthy foods or overeat, I have gained 12 Lbs. so far. However, my physical activity has been much less since I returned to work, and my new assignment, in particular, requires sedentary work. I tell myself, "It's okay to start over and try again."
