I’m struggling today. I miss my best friend, Diet Soda! I gave it up on June 26th, and it had been pretty easy until today. Stressful day

Debbie!!! Diet soda is your enemy not your friend. Diet soda tries to wreak havoc on your woe and the water that your body needs. Love your body and your health not something as devious as soda. Silly. Reframe the way you think of it.

I had to give up coffee/caffeine in my early 30s and thought it was impossible. I still love the smell of the coffee aisle but no longer crave it.

I ordered some STUR water enhancers which arrived today. I'm only using half as much as it says to (just a squirt in a 16-oz bottle of water), and after I drink that, I am drinking a bottle of plain water before having another flavored one. So far, I have tried the Fruit Punch, Strawberry-Watermelon, and Coconut-Pineapple, and I like them all. The other flavors that came were Black Cherry and Blue & Black Berry. My twin friends found some Peach-Mango and Strawberry Lemonade today and will bring that to me tomorrow. For now, I'm doing alright, without missing the Diet Root Beer. I upped my walking to 3 miles today. I have been doing 2 miles a day for about a week (sooner than my doctor recommended). I was only doing that much because I was still walking with the stupid boot on, and it made my walking unbalanced and jarring. Today, I was able to walk in my Skechers "mules" (backless), which are kind of stretched out a bit, so it did not irritate my toe. I can't hardly wait until I get back up to six miles a day. My next appointment with the surgeon is next Wednesday, 7/10, and I'll see if I can get the ok to increase even more. With my grandson gone for 9 days, I am getting so much accomplished. Today, I gave my bathroom a much-needed cleaning from top to bottom. I've decreased my breakfast menu yet again, to only 170 calories now. I'm just having one egg and one sausage patty, and it is still satisfying. I ended up eating that 2nd piece of cake yesterday (3 total in two days). It's all gone now, PTL! Now that that is out of the picture, I'm increasing my fruits and vegetables again and still am able to meet my Average Calories Per Day goal of under 1,500. My husband requested homemade Beefaroni yesterday, so I made that today. I'm figuring 350 calories for a 1-cup serving. It has sausage, Ragu spaghetti sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese in it. Simple, but good. For lunch today, I had that with 100g of String Beans (cooked with salt pork fat back). I'm still getting up and eating a King's Hawaiian roll with butter twice during the night. Maybe if I go through with the Sacral Nerve Stimulator implantation that is being recommended for my urinary incontinence, I'll actually be able to sleep through the night. OK, that's about all that's happening. Oh, Yearofhealth2023, I was able to catch up on all your posts lately. Good to find out what is happening on your journey!

I recently in the past few months went back to drinking soda again until a couple weeks ago when I had a kidney stone appear and boy do I never want to go back to that so I have cut way back and only drink it when i go out to eat but not all the time either. I want to go back to the not drinking soda fully, you got this girl!!!!
