Haha! Wow - were they already shelled? 

No, footballmama. I prefer them not to be. That kind of slows me down a bit...lol. 

When shop rite had a special on Nature's Valley granola bars I stacked up but I see my weight going up instead of down, and that has me down. You all have an awesome week!!! 

@Giannis, those have a little too many carbs for me. Pecans fit into my plan, but anything can be over done...lol. Hope your week is awesome as well! 

Put them in ziploc bags and freeze them. They're great to take out and eat when no one else has pecans! 

Pecans are also my weakness. Luckily they freeze well -and if I had seen that great of a deal I would've been in as well! Where did you find $1 per lb!?!? Yowza 

I love pecans too, when I lived in AR I had my own tree and now my son gets to use it. And yes they do freeze well. Their great roasted with a little butter and salt just watch them closely they burn quick. 

I will consider it, Shea, but with a family that loves them as much as me I doubt they will need freezing...lol. We will see if they get tired of them and slow down. Thanks for the advice! I had no idea they could be frozen. @120... at a little store grocery store called Sav-a-lot. I asked the mgr "What in the world?". She said they had to get rid of ft h err m before they went bad. I checked the experation date, and they are good until July. 😆  

Wish I could find pecans for $1 a pound! I would buy all they had and package them up, freeze them, and take out a few at a time. I have to ration myself, even tho they are on my WOE you must practice portion control. And portion control is one of my many weaknesses. 

@Addie... I've been wanting to try that, but it seems that they can never make it to the oven. 😂 @rhontique, I did! You should have seen my husbands face when I came home with all of those pecans until I explained to him (as women have a tedancy to do about a sale) that I saved $175. I agree about the portioning. I pull out 10 for my allowance.  

Wow, $1/pound, I'd have stocked up, too! The last really great deal I found on any kind of nut was at Big Lots, they had Blue Diamond almonds in the 28oz bag for $5. Those bags retail for four times that much. I bought the equivalent of $100 worth, and they went a whole lot faster than one might think! Wasabi and Soy Sauce flavor, sure was good.

It's actually Sir Mix A-Lot and it cracked me up! (get it?) 

My brother has 2 pecan trees and he has given me 3 5-gallon buckets this year. I shared the first one with my sister-in-law and daughter; the 2nd one I took to the guys and gals that I use to work with; and the 3rd one I still have. But I am going to give part of it away and freeze the rest after shelling. I will use thought out the year 

@FloridaAngel & EDC...Bahahaha!!!! 😂 Sir Mix A-Lot & I bought them from Sav-a-Lot. Ironic! Wow, Phil! That was a great deal! @punkin... I am generous, but you're much more generous than me. No outsiders better not touch my nuts! 😂
