Well, tomorrow starts a new “plan” for my eating. They say the definition of insanity is, “Doing the same thing and expecting different results.” After over a month of staying below an average of 1,800 calories a day and 3 weeks of walking 6 miles a day, all I’ve accomplished is MAINTAINING my current weight of 193 (basically no loss). One thing I’m going to be doing differently, starting sometime this month (June), is switching completely from drinking 8-12 cans of diet root beer a day to drinking ONLY water and hot tea. I still have a 15-20 day supply of soda, but when it’s gone, it’s GONE for good. Not paying any more for 12-pack sodas, EVEN if they are Buy 2 Get100 FREE!!! I’m also not buying any more for my grand children. Starting tomorrow (Monday), things are going to be different. I’m going to be increasing my Fats and Protein and reducing my Net Carbs and calories. I’m basically only going to be having carbs from fruit and vegetables. I’d like to be able to average under 1,600/day. I’m also vowing to not have ANY bread, desserts, pretzels/chips until I make a homemade, from scratch, German Chocolate Cake for my birthday on 6/20. I’ll have ONE slice on my birthday, and 1 slice the day after, and I’m giving away ALL the rest of it (except 2 slices for my husband). I’ll really miss my King’s Hawaiian Rolls in the middle of the night.

You've got a great plan and if you stick to it you will succeed. In the last three weeks I am doing better and have had some success. Sticking to it gets easier the longer I stay with my goal in mind. You can do it.

Great plan. Soda not is ridiculously expensive and not worth it. Most of us eat too many carbs.

I usually (ok, ALWAYS) have a toasted Thomas’ English Muffin with Butter, Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam every morning for breakfast at about 3:30am! I’m now going to be having meat and eggs for breakfast - more time to make and dishes to clean up, , but I think eliminating the bread is a step in the right direction for me. I’ve been TERRIBLE today! I’ve eaten over 3,300 calories - everything I won’t be able to have for the next three weeks, all crammed into one day of binging. Thankfully, I’ve also had several really good bowel movements today, so maybe it will balance out on my weigh-in tomorrow morning. 🤞

You have put together an excellent plan. Getting rid of the pop is definitely a must. Even tho they are sugar free the artificial sweeteners affect the way your body handles insulin. Makes you insulin resistant. You CAN do this!
