Well, on my 22nd day of walking, I was having a really bad day emotionally and only walked 4 miles. The day after that, I was still upset with myself over breaking my 21-day record, but I went ahead and walked my normal 6 miles. Day before yesterday, I was still beating myself up, so I decided to DO something about it instead of just feeling bad. I walked 7 miles instead of 6! I did the same yesterday, 7 miles, so I have “made up” the two miles I missed on Day #22. I hope y’all won’t think I’m “cheating,” but I’m going to say I’ve walked 6 miles every day for 25 days. I DID get in all the miles, even though I had to make up for that 4-mile day. It still averages 6 miles a day, every day for 25 days. I feel much better about myself after having made amends for the day I ALMOST blew my record. We have to give each other grace, and need to extend that same grace to ourselves.

Your doing awesome Debbie, do you walk outside or inside on a treadmill or something like that. don't beat yourself up you've walked 6miles a day and that's so great I'm so proud of you, and I am ready to do the same thing but I have to start off with just walking inside to begin with and do as much as I can until I heal up and build all my muscles 💪 back up in my knee, after knee replacement and all GLORY to GOD for help me thru my surgery and recovery its going great and I'm walking around my house but still have a little bit of a limp so I'm working on building muscles now and getting the limp out...I hope I can walk like you do....

So proud of you. I am an older man, widowed, and I used walk and jog alot. But now I have a permanent injury to my right foot and can't walk very far. But if I could I 'd be right out there with you. Walking is great excercise and putting in all those miles drastically increases calorie burning. Fantastic

You are doing great baby...great plan to "make up" the distance...the body does not care..its fine with make up days...good job!! I amtrying to get back to 3 miles daily..having hellacious knee pain from pes answerine bursitis ..working through it.

SaraRiley, I had a total right knee replacement on July 27, 2023. Within a week, I was walking a mile a day with the walker. I could only walk about 2/10 of a mile at a time, but it added up quickly. The weather in Virginia is too extreme for outside walking, so I’ve created a circuit in my house. We have a pretty big brick rancher (all one level). I go in each room as far as I can, and make a U-turn and come back out. I use a walking app called STEPZ to monitor my distance, steps, and calories burned. I only walk one mile, then I sit in my recliner and do something productive for about a half hour before walking again. I hate to sweat, so that limits how much I can do at a time. May the Lord heal you completely, and quickly. I say an affirmation several times a every day: “I’m so happy and thrilled that my knees are restored to full capability, enabling me to walk 6 miles a day, climb and descend stairs confidently, squat, kneel, and get up off the floor with ease, and even run.”

6 miles a day. I’m impressed. It will motivate me. I’m new here and would like to follow but not sure how this site works yet. I’m 73.

Rjv531, depending on whether you’re using a phone or computer makes a lot of difference. On the phone, I don’t get the posts of anybody. On the computer, you can set it to show you all the posts of your Friends. To make me your Friend, just click on my picture, which will take you to my profile, then click Add Friend. I think you do it that way. After 5+ years on here, I should know instead of just guessing. Welcome. I’m going to be 70 on 6/20.
