It's been 3 weeks now and I've lost just a single kilo.
I feel slightly dissapointed since you're supposed to drop off quickly at the beginning and then reach a plateau; on the other hand, I feel good because even if the drop-off rate is slow, I'm eating mostly healthy foods.
I managed to stay away from chocolate and poor greek fast food (yes yes, pitta gyros) , soft drinks and fatty sauces, which makes me believe that I'm starting to grow some discipline here.
Of course, it's not that I worked out to enhance the weight loss, neither did I follow a strict diet.. there were many days where I did crave sugar and eventually I cave in by oversnacking, eating larger portions than planned etc.

Another thing that bugs me though, is that from the moment I changed my eating habits, I'm having trouble with my bathroom visits. It's not exactly constipation, meaning that I am not feeling bloated at all. I just don't get the usual feeling that signals a pooping session!! I'm being more active, I drink plenty of water, I eat fruits vegetables and legumes on a daily basis and yet, nothing seems to work!
Crazy thing is that if I do eat something like let's say a mini croissant, which is basically greasy puff pastry with sugar, everything is getting back to normal. Which is weird.

Have you ever experienced this?
Could healthy eating habits result in something like this? And if so, what did you do about it, any piece of advice?

I'm on strict Atkins (maybe 10g carbs/day), and yes, I noticed a decrease in volume of what goes out. Drink lots of water. Try some unsweetened tea too. Takes a while to get used to, but I drink a ton of unsweetened iced tea every day. Coffee with no sweetener, maybe a bit of some low carb almond or coconut milk. That should help get things moving along. However, don't cheat, and change your mindset as to what is "normal," such as what happens after eating a mini croissant. That's the old normal. Now is the new normal.

Thank you gingher and meli1028 :) I did some research, had a conversation with a friend of mine who recently lost weight and everyone confirms that this is normal, thus I should let my body adjust. As for the weight loss rate, yeah, meli1028, you're right. I thought that you reach a plateau at some time but, as it seems, the closer you are to your "ideal weight", the more difficult it becomes. I don't mind it, but I'm impatient, I'd love to see some results so that I could maintain my motivation.. :) Have a great day guys!
