on August 1st... in the week of the first anniversary f my husbands death... I resolved to stop the comfort eating of naughty things and ensure I ate veg and protein and controlled carbohydrates and fats so could suffer less reflux, feel healthier, reduce cholesterol, reduce wear and tear on aging joints and stop putting on more weight. I had gained such a lot in previous year. I have set an ambitious target in the long run. within the last 4 months I have sort of tried I.f.but mostly have been very determined about calorie counting within the more healthy regime. the cold weather is testing my resolve... hankering after hot chocolate and chips etc etc. so far I haven't panicked when I have had too much or just too much of wrong thing and am telling my self that tomorrow is another day and as long as I eat well and keep going it will work. so reflux has reduced and cholesterol doing OK as is blood pressure and so on. and today I have finally lost a stone. so onwards and downwards..... I hope!!!!

Thank you. You are spot on. A bereavement I think last longest for those who are closest so there are difficult days and memories and better days and good memories. Overall suppose trajectory is OK ish. Thanks again.

Hi Jennie 1952, firstly welcome to my site. I have another site on here also called Merry Mel with a photo of Jim and I. I lost all my data, so was chuffed when I found it. Please feel free to browse. Yes we are both going through a very difficult procedure. We are here for each other so that's great. I am so tired I need a pencil to keep my eyes open. Slow & steady is the best way I think although we get stuck some days ( me at the moment) we should never stop
