Sick. Got 3hrs total sleep Sat-Mon from incessant coughing. OTC meds didn't help. Popped into my local Urgent Care 8am yesterday. Got steroid & viscous lidocaine while there, then Tessalon & Guaifenesin w/Codeine scripts. I only coughed 5 times yesterday. However, I wasn't able to sleep at all. I just got a 90min nap in now after dropping the kids at school. I am glad the cough is gone, but confused as to why my body won't sleep. Very frustrating. This cold will last forever if I can't get decent sleep.

4.5hrs sleep tonight. I guess that's a little progress.

Coughing does keep a person up. Glad you went to get help for it. When I get that, the only thing that really helps is steroids and antibiotics immediately the inflammation goes away. The coughing disappears practically 24 hours after you get the medication I really hope this gets better for you.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Praying for a full recovery for you! I know when I’ve gotten certain meds for my cough, especially steroids, I can’t sleep at all…💜🙏

Same thing happens to me when I’m sick… so frustrating, I feel like how can I ever get better if I can’t rest?? But somehow you get better. Hope you’ll be able to rest well soon.

Keep resting UHD, even if you can’t sleep. It’s something. Hope you’re feeling better today. I had a fever keeping me from my z’s Monday and Tuesday night but last night I finally had a nice long sleep. 🙌🏼

Yes, steroids and other meds knocked out the cough almost instantly. However, I still get coughing spells within a minute of being out in the cold air. My lungs just get super irritated for a few minutes. Other than that, I'm on the nasal congestion/drainage phase. And that isn't fun either. My hospital just said I'm okay to work Saturday. I'm sure my patients will be thrilled. 🙄

Feeling any better TUD? I started taking ashweganda to help with my sleep and it does seem to help. Moon juice brand 1 tsp in water before bed.
