I was thinking of restarting/ changing my goal and start weight. Maybe do mini goals instead. Anyone have any thoughts? Is it helpful to do it that way. Im just trying to find motivation and feeling of accomplishment rather than ugh.

I find it is better to have 5 lbs at a time goals. Keeps me sane.

I start 5lbs goal at a time is realistic for me also intermittent fasting helps a lot I have problems starting and stopping so I just start investing in myself no diet just invest I deserve it now I just say the things that I'm gaining💙

Mini goals

I knew I had to lose about 60 lbs. For me that was the goal not the incremental loss during the process. The rewards were the weight loss and feeling better both physically and about myself every single day. Different strokes for different folks!!

Long term goals are essential. But mini goals mostly help keep us sane. It's all about what you're trying to accomplish though. Like a relationship you have to keep it fresh and do new things here and there. So things don't get stagnant. All of this can constant change as well. I feel like my goals have evolved all throughout my tenure. It's what's kept me going mostly! Decide the weight/look/ clothes fit you want. Then chase it each day little by little.

So a follow up to Joes comment. I think how you do it depends really on what your end goal is about. For me I had to lose and keep the weight off to save my ankles and knees and increase my mobility. It was also about getting my cholesterol managed by losing weight, improving diet, and increasing exercise. My goal was never about how I looked in the mirror, how clothes fit, the size tag in my pants. There were no mini goals to get me where I am now. My end goal also has never changed over time. If small goals and rewards over time work for you that’s all that matters.

I have mini goals. Waist, weight, new foods, and fitness. That way, there's not a hyper focus on the scale. I have mini successes along the way, which cements the new habits.

I didn't start out breaking my goals into increments intentionally. I just felt after I'd successfully lost ××× amount, I could do more. My first goal was for appearance. My 2nd goal was the lowest I'd gotten in several years. Over time, it came to be as much about my health as how I looked. I won't lie, though....looking better & fitting into cute clothes is still a strong motivator to maintain the loss.

@rehab @outer I think right now mini goals will work. I changed it yesterday for 2lbs and because it’s so close I can feel myself being able to not over indulge.

@joe and @honey yes the overall goal is it but for my motivation I think I’m gonna do the mini goals. I’m thinking 2-3 pounds a month. If I can lose it and keep it off for the whole month then that’s good.
