Last night, I fancied myself driving to CVS, dropping off film, buying two king sized candy bars, and eating them in the car. My next thought was logging the candy, sucking up the weight gain, and talking about it on FS, which I didn't want to do, so imagined myself NOT logging the candy, staying off FS until I recovered my weight loss, and actually spiraling back into binge eating behavior, ballooning up over 300 lb again. So, I decided to skip the candy bars. The habit of logging my food and weight loss progress actually helps me stay on track, so thank you for being there, reading my posts and comments, and regarding me as a fellow on the journey ❤ I could not do it without you 🙂

Lady isn’t it impressive how accountability actually WORKS!!! Whenever i have been diligent in taking care of myself and (prior to FS) and journaling my food intake it always helped but the added factor of knowing that others can see where i screwed up seems to give an extra boost. Not always. Not perfectly. But often. I also found that if i log the food that may be questionable (or quantity) prior to ingestion that is often a deterrent. So proud of you for making a decision that had more to do with loving yourself and taking care of yourself than giving yourself less than 10 minutes of sugar. Congrats on that!!!

LadyinDenim— I like a Coke with pizza or tacos, but when I buy them I get the small 7.5 oz. Cans and just have one. Mostly I drink water and unsweetened hibiscus ice tea. I don’t do diet sodas or drinks at all. That is worse than just having a real one once in a while.

I got 2 butterfingers at the check out stand at the grocery store about a year ago. I thought I'd eat one when I get home and then put the other one in the freezer out in the garage to have sometime when I'm really craving sweets. I ate them both before I got home! I didn't log it. I rarely do. I know if I've eaten more than I should

@jen, I decluttered some drawers and unearthed 5 rolls of film. Probably my daughter's wedding from 15 years ago, my granddaughter's birth 13 years ago, maybe a holiday or two. I got the thumbs up from Moneybags to develop them 😄

@Charlie, welcome back! ((Hug)) @YOH - 💯 Reading the boards, we quickly identify our people - mine are the ones who own their food insanity without judging. It is what it is, right? We can't logic our way out of it, we can't cure it, but we can learn to live with it and manage our BEHAVIOR. 💡No point in self hate, self harm, or self pity (although those creep in) because only with love and acceptance can we shed this fat and happily inhabit our smaller, fitter bodies ❤

Thanks, Erika. I do eat sugar in measured amounts, and plan to abstain from sweet foods at the shower tomorrow. My treat will be pickled beets and cottage cheese tomorrow evening 🤗

Thanks Lady, but you're giving me too much credit. When I'm not eating right I don't log my food. My food journal is for me and I don't want everyone to see it if I go crazy and eat a family size bag of chips. When I check my food journal I can tell exactly what has been going on.I lost 10 or 11 pounds from January 1st to sometime in March. Then I slowly put back 5 pounds. 2 trips in Oregon and Washington in March and July contributed to that. Since I got back from the last trip I'm trying hard again and log every day. The most important thing for me when logging food is making sure I get enough protein. I only eat 2 meals a day, skipping dinner. Total calories are important but again, if at the end of the day I eat something with another 1000 calories I rarely log it. I may have logged those 2 butterfingers if I did everything else right for the day.

Fritzy, for what it's worth, most people use the app instead of the desktop site, and can't see your food journal. I consider it too much trouble to log in to the website and snooping in people's food logs isn't appealing to me. I understand wanting to keep some things private. I log daily weights on a separate app and (with rare exception) record only losses here. I gained 6.6 lb with my last refeed and lost 9.4 lb so far with my current fast. It just looks and sounds messy, so I keep it to myself 🙄

I really don't mind people looking at my food diary. There are some people who will critique people's journal like I've looked over the food you've eaten the last 3 days an you are having too much this and not enough that. No one has done it to me and I've actually had some helpful comments. I wrote about how all of a sudden, after about 40 years loving Campbell's tomato soup and I started eating it on my low fat diet. Some asked if I saw how much added sugar was in one can. I am not on a low carb diet but I do pay attention and ideally try to keep carbs to 100 grams. Can't do it with the soup. I have 8 to 10 cans left in the house. I. Going to drop them off at a local food pantry along with 12 cans of baked beans, something I thought was a good source of protein and fiber. But too much sugar
