Good morning, FS WARRIORS!!! 💜 ✨️ Just checking in... Yesterday's strength training, Leg day: 1 hour 31 minutes; 44,160lb volume; 41 sets. I felt like I should have included body weight with those little 10lb squats I did 🤭 when I recorded. I'm still using mostly machines to build me up to be able to do more intense training, but I started adding in a little free weight/body weight training & more compound movements in as of yesterday. Whew... those machines are a lot easier than free weight & body weight exercises, but hey, it's something! I've upped my calories a bit (still watching macros & staying in ketosis) and focusing on muscle growth for now. I'm really trying to find my best calorie/macros for recomposition. Boy... upping the calories even just a bit is really psychologically hard for me, but I don't want to be doing all of this weight training and have no muscle growth at all. On the flip side of that, I still have a lot of fat to lose & definitely don't want to gain any. I'm thinking rest day today, or maybe just a walk. Julian Michaels says, "Strength training is the architect, but rest is the builders."👷‍♀️ 👷‍♂️ Anywhooo... I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday! 😘

Perhaps you’ll find this reassuring: I increased my calories (by about 100-150 cal a day) once I figured what I wanted to do regularly exercise-wise, and after a week or so on the increased calories, I got out of a plateau with a 3 lb drop. The body liked it! I feel like it is finally going after the more stubborn fat, not just reinvigorating my muscles. I walk and row (I have a rowing machine) everyday and do strength training three days a week. I feel stronger and energized. Hope you are already seeing some benefits, too!

Thanks! Good on you, Agnes! I'm talking about adding alot more calories than that (though I may end up tweaking them later) because they were way too low. I found it hard to hit 1200 a day with my WOE. I'm going to try to increase them to 1600-1900 a day, esp on my strength training days. I have a very slow metabolism, always have. That's one reason I want to build some muscle, to speed it up. I really don't mind if I don't see any movement on the scale right now, just as long as it doesn't go TOO FAR in the wrong direction. I'm planning on ordering a scale that measures fat mass, muscle mass, etc. to give me some idea what is going on. My nephew let me use his for a couple of weeks & I noticed that even though I was in a BIG calorie deficit & strength training, it showed muscle mass going down & fat mass going up. Idk how accurate they are though.

I am already feeling stronger & more energized though. Already upped weight on strength training just a bit.

Today's workout ended up being fixing my friend's water pipe. Geesh... It was hot 🔥 🥵 out there!

IMO helping a friend should count as double the calories burned ;-)
