I started on antibiotics for upper respiratory and ear infections. I just kept thinking I would get better, but I finally got some help. I had to come home from work yesterday after a couple hours, but I got the things done in the office that could not wait. I am laying low today but hope I can work a full day tomorrow. I've been keeping pretty close to my calorie goals. Tomorrow will be one week since weighing in here daily. Up and down is normal. I am looking for the trend, which I am really trying to push downward. I would sure love to be under goal by our holiday in France in the fall. When I am feeling well enough, I'll be back at the gym! My striped, red/dark red roses are some of my favorites! This morning these ARE my favorites. Have a great Sunday!

I'm glad you are on antibiotics! that usually has me better in no time. I feel life summer colds are even worse than winter cold. Get well friend!

Shir, my "goal" isn't the same as what it used to be... I added five pounds. Maybe I'll try to shift it someday, but considering how damn hard I worked to keep under it and at my fittest never managed to do so for more than a couple days at a time, I just am not thinking it is reasonable for me... For how much I'm willing to sacrifice. I'll be happy with about 7 to 8 pounds down and more fit! 😁 I wish you could see this rose in real life... Like a fancy velvet dress for a flower! Not the stripes but the rich color. The fanciest yet.

Melissa, I think you're wise to change that number. Apparently your body is trying to tell you something. I'm not sure what my final goal will be, but I'm very sure it will not be what I weighed when I was forty-five.

I've seen a very similar rose before. There's this nursery not far from Houston called The Antique Rose Emporium that has the most amazing roses. It's worth driving out there in the summer just to drive up and open the car door, because the fragrance is magnificent.

If you love roses and ever get the chance, visit Tyler Texas Rose Gardens, it's so beautiful and smells heavenly. I believe they have every type of rose under the sun!

Thanks, Shir. Ive just gotten tired of fighting to be what is was all through teen's, early 20's, before many pregnancy's weight... maybe that is admitting defeat, but I'm now 50. I think 5 pounds up won't be too bad. Mostly I want to be back closer to as fit as I was a year or so ago regardless of the scale reading!

Thanks, everyone, for enjoying my roses with me! How I would love to see the gardens you speak about! I wonder how they handle the heat down in Texas. Maybe mine are just too pampered and used to cooler temps, but they scorch when it gets over 80. Their blooms have weaker color, fragrance is less, and the blossoms literally turn brown so quickly in the heat.

I really appreciate everyone's concern. I worked all day today but not with much energy at all. My ears and head still feel so much pressure. My breathing is ok, and I'm sure the antibiotic just needs time to work its magic.
