Second day in the gym. Felt every bit of it, but I am getting the hang of things. It is starting to come back to me. I just have to keep going this time. Now if I can just get control of my erratic sleep cycle. Hasn't been right since my wife's health failed before her passing. Only getting about 5 or 6 hours unless I have a nap in the afternoon.

I am so sorry for your loss and the ongoing pain you must be feeling. xx I read somewhere that getting out of bed and going outside for ten minutes when you wake helps reset the seratonin cycle and allow for more sleep... maybe that's worth a shot?

Sleep hygiene is a routine. Yep, insomnia here also. Let me know what works.

Lack of sleep is the enemy of weight loss. Hunger is amplified by tiredness. Some things that I've learned that help improve sleep. Eat your last meal 5 to 6hrs before bed. Don't exercise after your last meal. Do something dull before bed. Read something non stimulating, or watch re-runs on TV. Try to go to bed at a consistent time. Procrastination, for the worrier, is the enemy of sleep. Every time you feel hungry, go work on a task that you have procrastinated, before eating. And, if your mind is actively going through the list of things that need to be done when you are trying to sleep, write that list down on paper and start working that list during the day. Don't try to force yourself to sleep. Like Bubbles suggests, get up and do something boring, when you are sleepy again, go back to bed. You may sleep better at night. Best wishes.

Thanks Penderg. I'll keep your suggestions in mind. I think the big problem right now is lack of a good routine following my wife's recent passing. I'm still working on that. When I was taking care of my wife as her health failed in the years prior to her death, I slept in short 3-5 hour snatches to be available for her. Now that she's gone, I'm still in the process of reinventing myself and haven't worked out a good consistent schedule yet. I'll get there, but nights are still a mess at this point. Still, thanks so much for the support. I'll work on your suggestions.
