My grandpa died this morning. I've been trying very hard not to revert to emotional eating. I did get stuck with eating KFC for dinner because I was at my parents' house and that's what our church brought to us. I peeled all the skin off chicken breast and only ate the meat inside. You think that helped cut calories? I also ate about 2 spoonfuls of mashed potatoes. I did the best I could in the situation. I'm mentally and physically exhausted because they called at 5 am to tell me he was gone. I found it very difficult to rest after that point. I know the Lord is gonna give me strength. He always does. Peace.

I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather. This would be a very emtional eating time for me! Congratulations for not eating a lot. It did help cut calories by taking the skin off. Take care.

I am so sorry Sonja. It sounds like you did an awesome job to me. Especially given the situation. After my Mom died, I gained 20 lbs in a month, so be careful and remember it would not please your Grandfather to respond to this by allowing yourself to eat unhealthily. **** You can look up "Fried Chicken, skin not eaten" in the food diary and check the calories that way to see what you saved by removing the skin. Also, KFC mashed potatoes are in the system too. **** You are SO right about God giving us strength. Was your Grandfather a Christian? God has a plan for this painful experience, learn from it and glorify Him through it & He will greatly bless you with His peace that passes all understanding.
