Wow. 12:02pm, and this is the first break I've had since I got up at 3:30 this morning. I hijacked my grandson overnight because my daughter has not been giving him the care he needs for his encopresis. One day, she didn't even give him his MiraLAX - hardly any water, no exercise, no vegetables, no fruit (both of which I pre-portioned and bagged up to make it easier for her), no Claritin, no Flonase, no Fiber Gummies, no 10-minute toilet time after he eats. NOTHING the doctor said to do! I am SO beyond aggravated with her! As it stands now, I'm keeping him until I take him to the bus for school on Monday. I know this could be major enabling, but I'm trying to protect my grandbaby who can't take care of himself because he's only seven years old. I told her I'd bring him back when she is ready to be a mother to him.

I wouldn't be giving him most of that either.
I'm sorry I can't support this. She's his mother, and you're being the rescuer in a drama triangle. Unless you're going to watch every pooh for the rest of his childhood, you need a different way of handling the situation.

Sounds like he's already cleared out his bowels, so why are you continuing treatment? Why not call the pediatrician and ask them what to do next?

@JustBananas, we have a doctor appointment for tomorrow. This was a two-week treatment plan. It will change tomorrow. @Bubbles McBubble, which of the doctor-recommended treatments would you not be giving him (fruit, vegetables, water, exercise, fiber, MiraLAX, his allergy medications)? Regardless of your answer, I appreciate your input and am thankful that I have people here who care enough to respond to my posts.
