It's crazy easy!!!!! Do you have a food processor? Basically, you can blend anything you want (can even make oil-free), with any flavours. I've even used canned lentils!

Yes I make my own all the time in a $12 blender I got 7 years ago! Super easy and cheap to make, I use the “Easy Hummus” recipe by the website “inspired taste”

Thanks to both of you! I’m going to give it a try. I eat hummus virtually every day. It’s not that expensive but the one I like the best is only available 50 miles away.

yes, and there are so many varieties. some you even use peanut butter. it's really easy to make practically any variation, so yes worth the effort.

I think it is…it does take some food processor power to get that really smooth consistency, but it’s delicious. My fave is homemade roasted red pepper hummus!

It is definitely worth making. The flavour and consistency are so much better than store bought versions, plus you can customize for your taste. If you are using chickpeas, I tried making it with dried chickpeas (soaking & cooking) a few times. I would not say that was worth the time and effort. They were my best batches, but canned chickpeas were so close and much more convenient.

Definitely worth the effort, Laura; but for me not worth the calories that are in a really good recipe😒

The Costco version that I love (roasted red pepper and garlic) has only 27 kcal/Tbsp; I hope to get close to that with my home version. I use one Tbsp/day on my breakfast toast, instead of butter - 83 kcal less than butter and no cholesterol, both are plusses for me.
