And, most I,portant lay, you need to designate, in writing who gets guardianship of your kids if both you and your wife were to die simultaneously or one followed by the other. If one dies and the other is on a ventilator, who has guardianship and access to your funds on behalf of caring for your kids. This shit can get complicated especially if there is any family discord. 

Insurance companies are a rip off. Disgusting you were denied. Anyone could have clots and don’t even know it. Rediculous 

@Storms, it really makes me think about telling people to get regular physicals and labs. Now, I suggest everyone get life insurance before getting a diagnosis in your chart. And I suggest private labs like I mentioned to Supergainz so it isn't on record.  

Back in the day, even YOUR own employer didn’t have to insure you or a child of yours if he/she had more than a cold in their life. But, let me play devil’s advocate here. We are a nation of severely overweight people who continue their poor food choices even though they know about diabetes, heart disease, neck and spine issue related to carrying a heavy load. The insurance companies are spending astronomical amounts of money because we the people, who pay a pittance for our medical insurance as compared to the millions that are spent covering our medical expenses. Hell, they are paying for gym memberships, dietician’s, obesity surgery, psychological counseling to help people deal with whatever trauma they feel they have had that now makes them feel like they have to eat anything that isn’t nailed down. Same with heart disease— people “hate” to exercise, or “it’s just not me— not in my nature”, but it’s Ok to let the insurance company pay astronomical amounts of money to fix our medical issues. Harsh—- yep. It’s harsh, but true. To a certain extent we have helped create this medical system that is floundering.
