Major Drama Part 2: well, the police came this a.m. & served the tenant with an Emergency Restraining Order and forced him to relinquish his weapon (my bad, I said it was a rifle in last post - it’s a pistol). In VA, the laws favor the tenant over the landlord, so he can stay IN the house, and my son’s family will be committing a Class 1 misdemeanor if they go in while he is there. They have 5 animals in the house - 2 of which need walking, and all 5 need feeding. My son has to stake out his own house to wait for him to leave so he can take care of them. Temporary Restraining order has to be obtained by a judge on Monday. If it is granted, he will have to vacate premises for 12 days and then they can apply for Permanent Restraining Order.
