Don’t get discouraged! I lost less than 2 lb in a month while going to the gym & cutting calories. I kept in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, but come on, I wasn’t lifting THAT MUCH in weights! It wasn’t motivating me at all to keep it up. I’ve never started with a plateau in the past so it had me baffled, but I knew I was doing things right. Then all of a sudden it started melting off! Two weeks of steady weight loss! So my advice is don’t get discouraged & keep up the good work, & stop weighing yourself so often when you hit a plateau.

I don’t think is so much the surgery, just rather your age and metabolism. But don’t worry the healthy way of loosing way is prob anywhere between 1-4 lbs a month. Meaning 1-2 lbs lost a week is doable with workouts and a healthy diet.
So work on the diet part too. Seems like u got a great hold of workouts. Stay strong 💪 just takes time. Also weight yourselves every other week.

It's probably due to hormone imbalance. Use a tdee calculator to see what you everyday calorie expenditure is then go from there and decrease 200-300 calories a day.

Have you researched the teachings of Dr. Steven Gundry? Your issue is probably what you are eating and or feeding your gut biome. You mentioned you work out. I am 53 and have been into resistance training most of my adult life. If you are focused on cardio try just doing resistance training but doing it in a way that keeps your heart rate elevated. I was doing high protein/high fat keto like diet and once I found Gundry I was able to do less strenuous workouts and shot down to my goal. I'm coming off a couple of weeks experimenting with eating foods off his list and have gained a bunch back just as I expected. Stay tuned through Dec 1 and I bet I get back within a couple pounds of my goal again. His stuff works because it focuses on primal man.

Coming from the other direction
I am also post menopausal
Due to elevated cholesterol -lipoprotein A levels and calcium score I went plant based
I am currently at my lowest adult weight
BMI 25-26
I find that when I don’t eat animal products I have no hot flashes and I sleep like a baby
I noticed that weight was really wanting to go to the midsection and my weight was super sensitive to any intake of simple sugars
Keep at it
Whole Foods
Nourish your body and be gentle with yourself
And watch for those NSV 😊

After years of wondering I finally learned it really IS calories in and calories out. You must burn more than you eat to lose weight. LOG everything

Hi KFrys
I am 56. I think I am done with the Menopause 🤞
And I thought I couldn’t loose weight. But back then I didn’t record my food diligently and always expected results over night. That doesn’t work unfortunately. Since I log every bite no matter how good bad or ugly…… I see results. It’s slow but I have got time. Be kind to yourself and nourish your body. You can do this 👍

Interestingly…… my husband and I did KETO last winter. We did an 8 week challenge. I did all the research and made all our meals and NEVER CHEATED…. Hubby lost 24 lb and I lost 2. Oh my soul - talk about discouraging. We did it together and he was looking so yummy. I DO calculate my meals and track calories. I’m on a 1300 calories eating plan. I work out - high intensity HIIT, 3 hours a week. Hubby is even baffled…he knows how hard I work. I am staying more focused on HEALTH, these days, than the scale. He says I look great - so after 31 years of marriage, and being a Grammy - I should be more content….life really is good!! 💙

Don’t give up. I am 50 years old. I had a Hysterectomy hence my weight gain. I also have Hashimotos thyroid issue. Last 3 month I lost 40 pounds. I looked at your diet calendar. I would increase your fresh green veggies, salad. Decrease the fat like heavy cream like substituting for 2% milk e.g and increase your fish and lean protein intake. I do weightlifting and boxing daily. Good luck.

Don’t you find that a bit low in calories 🤔
I average 1800 a day. I do the elliptical 2 or 3 times a week, walk briskly for an hour a day. That’s it exercise wise in the moment. If I eat any less I would get ravenous and probably start bingeing.

A pound of fat & a pound of muscle weigh exactly the same 1 pound HOWEVER that being said it does look different on a body. A pound of gravel looks way different than a pound of feathers ;) volume wise aka size wise but they are still both only 1 pound.
You may need to increase calories. If it is something you fear try adding in 100 calories a wk for 3 wks then if able to maintain or lose add another 100 calories until you begin to gain. Gaining as in actual fat mass increase & not just a fluctuation in scale weight due to glycogen increase or due to adjustment in electrolyte balance causing temporary additional water retention.
Good luck!

In case it wasn't clear
1 100 calorie bump held steady for 3 wks. (=300 total calorie increase over 3 wks)
Not 100 calorie bumps every wk for 3 wks. (=600 total calorie increase over 3 wks)
100 calories 25g carbs or 25g protein or 11g fat or any combo totaling 100 calories

I was in the same boat for a LONG time, tried everything, just switched to intermittent fasting and I’ve lost 12 lbs.
Biggest hurdle was no cream in my coffee.
Everyone is different so you need to keep trying to find what works for you. Menopause / Post Menopause is a bit**.
Good luck!
