Yesterday, I had the unbelievable pleasure of being invited to attend the premiere of Jon Batiste's first symphony in Carnegie Hall. His music felt like the celebration of his ancestors. He brought their birth, life and death forth through music.

writingwyo, at one point, I was crying through my mask because I couldn't believe I was there and because I've been thinking how I needed inspiration and it just felt like the most amazing feeling to have that inspiration back!

yfritz, the internet has assisted in exposing large swaths of the population, of all ages, to music that would be previously almost impossible to hear. And that is due in part to the idea that, 'you don't know, what you don't know.' If you can't travel, and you only have a radio or a tv, how would you learn of other types of music? You only know what you are presented with...unless you seek diversity... that is the game changer. But many people prefer the comfort of the familiar and fear the unfamiliar. I understand this as I used to resist change. I thought change was scary... until I didn't. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to remember that personal truth.

chia-nuts-cold, I can't tell you how lucky I felt to be there. The invitation came at a time when I really needed the inspiration. I needed to get out of the house... I work from home, workout at home, and prefer my food to eating out. When you mix that up you get stir crazy... pun intended. 🙃

chia-nuts-cold brew, I started off super simple with the weights, 20 to 30 minutes, 3 times a week. That was it. And, in the very beginning, I only did 2 sets of 10... and I got a hernia... lol. Doctor said it was bound to happen, I tore in several places probably due to childbirth. Then later, I needed knee surgery... but the point is those setbacks were temporary. Nothing beats persistence, I believe Calvin Coolidge said..
