Sharing some fun facts about celery today:

1.It's an urban myth that it takes more calories to EAT celery than it contains...bummer...but it's still an excellent choice for a snack thanks to its high water content & low sodium, cholesterol & calories.

2.Celery has been known as an aphrodisiac! Just ask Madame de Pompadour (official chief mistress of King Louis XV). She swore by celery & truffle soup washed down with hot chocolate💗

3.The Romans used the stalks as a hangover cure🍷🥬

4.A guest at a Chicago hotel was given a Bloody Mary with nothing to stir it with, so he grabbed a stick of celery from the buffet! Voila💡

5.Winners of athletic events in Ancient Greece were presented with bunches of celery, much as flowers are given today.

6.The Guinness World Records says the world record for the tallest celery plant is 9 feet, set in 1998 by Joan Priednieks in the UK.
