HELP! RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS!

I am holding firm to my resolve to eat high fat, low carb, modest protein. I am staying as close to 10% carbs, 20% protein and 70% fat per day but it is hard as heck-fire!

The only thing I can stomach seems to be bacon and cream cheese...everything else upsets my stomach. Anyone else relate, been thru it and have a remedy? Or have other high fat food options that didn't bother you too much. Coconut Oil is so OUT as it is too hard on my stomach. I do Avocado on eggs a couple of times a week. Running low on options.

Feedback would be very helpful.

Smilesong. diabetics need to control carbs, that's a definite. A friend who is diabetic keeps insisting I have to follow her eating plan. It is not for me. She also has stomach muscle issues from the diabetes that limit her to a very low fiber diet. My blood tests are well within normal. Keto works amazingly for many, just saying it doesn't work for everyone.

Try a small amount of coconut oil with each meal. Start with 1 tsp and if you can handle that, slowly increase it until you can tolerate it.

@ wholefoodnut. I liked the sound of what you have been doing with your diet. At different stages in our life our body changes the way it responds certain to foods. Staring a base diet like being vegan, paleo, Atkins, etc. then tailoring it to what your body can handle is what I found works best. Pork and dairy does not work for me. Actually my meat intake is very low to what I have done in the past. 1 4-5oz serving of chicken and 1 3-4oz of fish daily. That seems to be my magic number. Experimentation is they key. You have done really well with your diet and adding some meat once a week is great especially if it works for you. I use fish and chicken for a low sat fat based protein. My job can be physical, so I try to target 75 g of protein daily. Trying to get all the protein I need from beans and nuts put me in a higher calorie range than I am targeting at the moment. My plan is to cut back one serving of meat daily when I reach my target, then add more of the nuts and beans, which I love by the way. P.S. the only thing I am really missing is cheese. I love cheese, but that is one food I just can't eat it moderation, so I jus cut it out. Congrats on everyone's success. Keep it up!

This_guy, diets were not working for me, they were a temporary attempt at a fix. Reading and researching I decided that I had to come up with a way of eating that fit me. Not a "diet" but a healthy plan I could live with and still slowly lose the weight I needed and wanted to lose. I had not discovered this site yet. I started writing in a notebook everything I ate, how I like to cook, what I liked, didn't like. It just sort of evolved with a basis of using a 1200 calorie daily average over a week, and about a 30% primarily non saturated fats (much saturated was making me sick). Lots of whole plant based food with a Mediterranean type sparing use of meats. Turns out my plan fits that type of plan pretty well and also the anti-inflammatory plans.
