At the beginning of Feb I wrote about my Valentine's Day 5K. I was excited as it had been 3 months since my first 5K.

It was awesome. I am 18 lbs lighter. I ran an average of 11.01 minutes/mile which is a 2 minute/mile improvement. Not a blistering pace by any runners standard, but for a middle aged formerly fat guy who 6 months ago couldn't jog for 1 mile - I AM PUMPED.

Further, my folks happened to be in town so I got to do it with them watching. The weather was perfect. My twin daughters ran the race. One went for time (She got 3rd in her gender and age bracket - very proud Dad). The other - get this - decided to run with me to keep me company. My girls are the best. My wife was there taking pictures of it all.

You rarely get to have a 1/2 day with as much good as I got this Valentines Day. To recap:
1) Exceeded my weight loss goal
2) Broke my personal best for mile pace on a 5K
3) Valentines Day with my wife, girls and Parents
4) One of my girl gave up racing the 5K in order to stay with me and keep me motivated (sweet child of Mine) (yes that was an intentional GnR reference)
5)Other girl got third in the same 5K
