Sweetness, so sorry I haven't answered your question, from another post. Yes, it was hot, too hot and it was spare of the moment and we sleep in our car. Was pretty fun. We have all the camping gear, but because we were only staying 2 days, I didn't want to take a lot of stuff. I am now shopping for some upgraded camping equipment. They make some awesome gear now. 😃 This trip has now become an annual trip, to honor my mother (St. Francis Basilica) and my ancestral grandmothers (Jemez & Valles Caldera). One of the items I bought at the gift shop at Bandelier, was a seed pot, made by a potter from Jemez. It's perfect, because this year I am building my big vegetable garden. ❤️

Thank you, Jen. 💕 The scenery was amazing. The same volcanic eruption that created the caldera, also left a layer of Tuff, about 1,000 feet deep and that's what the native people carved into, making the cliff dwellings. We plan on going back to hike the different trails and explore some more ruins. 😃

Granny Dephews, you're welcome. I didn't get many photos of the ruins and cliff dwellings, because I was taking it all in. There were a few ladders set up, where you could climp up into the caves/dwellings.  

Thank you Diana. Have you ever been to Bandelier? The entire Jemez area is so beautiful.  

Sugarplum, you're welcome. It was a short stay, but very much enjoyed. Next time we will stay for a longer time and do more exploring. 😊 

HCB, it was so impressive and the park has done an excellent job with making the dwellings on the Main/Pueblo Trail accessible for wheelchairs ♿️ and strollers via a paved path.

Cmj, thank you. We didn't see it all and there are a lot of trails and ruins in Bandelier. It's mostly wilderness, except for the area around the Vistors Center and the campgrounds. There are more campgrounds, waterfalls, and hiking trails, as well as historic sites around Jemez Pueblo.

I have not been there but I looked it up and it looks amazing. We went to Mesa Verde National Park and saw Native American dwellings there. It was pretty cool. 💜
