Well, it's been a strange 14 or 16 weeks. We went for an old-fashioned day at the seaside in windy and wet February and whilst walking along the promenade I just thought "I want to live here - or somewhere like here". Not some romantic flight of fancy as I was seeing the place at it' worst. I'd been planning to move to Cornwall - but covid and 2nd homers scuppered that. I had actually had an offer accepted in Feb 2020 on a bungalow in Mullion and I was gazumped - allegedly by someone who had not even inspected the property.
So, wary of buyers remorse, I did a bit of homework and found a lovely spot, local shops (albeit more expensive than supermarkets) community activities etc and we moved in about 5 weeks ago. I've cycled 5 times a week, I get blown about on the coastal path for hours on end, I've joined both the local beach clean group and the sea watch group. Lost 5 kg. The escape from the drudgery of the town where I did live is wonderful. I'm lucky, I know that not everyone can do this.
