Scale Check: I see lots of discussions on here about scales. I have an older large dial Healthometer analog (no batteries required) and was starting to wonder if I should switch to digital. This morning I went straight from the Drs. to home and re-weighed. Old Faithful Scales are still dead on!
At this stage in the game, I really don't care if I've gained or lost a tenth of a pound. Will keep Old Faithful Scales as long as they choose to serve me.

Good choice I think, who needs to worry about batteries anyway. They don't make them like that anymore!!

Buffy,keep those old scales...IF IT AIN'T BROKE,DON"T FIX IT...That is how I pretty much feel about most things. Mine are digital and are off 2.5 lbs less than the dr.Doesn't bother me because I go by mine.have a great week-end.

Funny I was thinking of chucking my digital one for a good old fashioned one - I think they are probably more accurate and I think sometimes my massive weight fluctuations are not me but my scales. As they are not set in stone and get moved around the bathroom on a carpet, I think it messes with the digital insides, the older ones are more robust (a bit like us!!)

Stick to what works for ya. One warning, if you do use a digital, do not keep it near the heat. The inerds end up melting, talk about inaccurate!

Good evening, Buffy! I hope you are feeling better today. Was your doctor able to help? I purchased new digital scales a while back to replace some ancient ones. Sometimes the old one would be off my 30-100 pounds. I knew my weight wasn't fluctuating that much even if I wanted it to! Have a good night and a great weekend!

Digitals (I have one) are sometimes more flash than substance. The basic digitals will only give you accuracy within .2 pounds anyway and you're absolutely right...it really doesn't make a difference. We're not jockeys or prize fighters, so super-accuracy is not required. Keep your Old Faithful!
