Happy Tantalizing Tuesday to my FS family! 🌞👩‍🍳

There wasn't much response to yesterday's post about meal prepping...but I really think there is an important place for it in our WOE success. I know that I get in a 'rut' and tend to head for the same ingredients and the same recipes over & over (which is fine!) but then I see a new idea from one of members here or from a website and I get EXCITED to try something different!

This is a lifelong commitment I'm making with myself...so I would like to keep refreshing my toolbox with new ideas! How bout you?

I know what you mean about getting in a rut, CrystalJo. I try to keep it interesting but I get kind of tired of the measuring and the weighing of food for different recipes.

I do too...that's why I'm turning to more simple meals instead of actual recipes. But I'm still working on varying the clean, whole foods in interesting combos😊

What I do Crystaljo is when I find a few things that I like to eat, I just keep rotating what I like as long as it works for me, but I'm always open to try new things also great post thanks for sharing.

I am trying to find out why I am not excited by these pictures :) I do get excited about some pictures fs members post of their meals... maybe it is carrots and celery sticks... they sometimes feel like a chore ... and I like them...Maybe it is because these pictures scream diet and restrictions and I like the fun pictures that make me think I get away with something LOL... sorry just some Liv thinking.... But I agree planning is key... Failing to plan IS planning to fail... And I like whole foods... We are doing well. Let us keep going!!!!

Because I low carb my planning is around the proteins... then I add carbs within carb budget and think about getting fiber in with that carb as well. My protein and also my carbs are very often based on what I find on sale. I had turkey the last few days and I found a cheap roast that I will do tomorrow that will last a few days with sides. But I also look for inspiration... it is a cool part of of fat secret for sure

Yes I always prep for the week! Normally it’s just A lot of chicken & ground turkey , sautéed veggies and a big salad! I try to skip the carbs but I do always roast sweet potatoes and have brown rice on hand! No plan , is a plan to fail (:

My form of meal prep is having plenty of ingredients in the house to make tasty, healthy meals. Sometimes though, I create meals out of unexpected ingredients when I don't have a lot to choose from. I do have the luxury of having more time many days because I'm retired.

@LearningToLoveMeee...So, how do you cook the chicken all at once and then put in fridge? Easy to brown the ground turkey and store it...how bout the sauteed veggies? Do you saute them on the weekend and then reheat during the week? I am serious about learning🤔

@SherryeB...isn't it a luxury to have the extra time?! I LOVE being retired!! Your food photos always look like a Martha Stewart spread...so elegant and sometimes unique! You are among the 'masters' here on FS!!👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Thank you, Crystal! I started out just sharing what I was eating. Over time I've upped my game....coming up with more creative dishes. I figure you don't have to eat boring food to lose & maintain your weight.
