I am posting this with embarrassment. Once again I am having to get back on track. I am going to work out a plan for daily activity and meals with alternatives for days that I'm hurting and/or have a flare up with the fibromyalgia. Sleep has been my main concern and I was doing really well until this last week. I do so much better when I'm alone, but that isn't my life and I thank God for that. My strategy must be something that I can practice daily with people being in my life. If I trip up, it's on me. I want to be strong enough and solid in my self-care so that even when there are changes going on around me, I stay steady. I have done this before. I know how to do it, but honestly, I dropped the ball when my mother passed away and that was 2 years ago. It's time to get strong, physically, spiritually and emotionally . ❤

I can empathize. I too have had fibro many years. I have learned that sleep is very important, whenever it is possible. So much easier now that I am retired. I also swear by some form of movement that gets me up from my chair every 30-45 minutes. The pain is so much less when I stretch and move. I am starting water aerobics in the morning. I have high hopes for increasing my comfort zone. The only time failure rears it's ugly head, is when we stop trying! Keep working to find the best you! I too have had fibro for many years. Sleep is extremely important whenever you can get it. Much easier now that I'm retired. I also have put myself on a plan that I move/stretch every 30-45 minutes. It has proven to reduce the pain level markedly. I start water aerobics tomorrow morning. I have high hopes for the reduction of pain and increased flexibility. The only time that Failure rears its ugly head, is if we stop trying! Blessings on your Search for Happier Healthier You!

Thank you so much SLYONE 22. ❤ There are a few of us here with the same type of health challenges and sharing what works for you is a tremendous help and encouragement. I have found that movement is very important too. Sometimes a stern pep talk is what I need in order to not stay stagnant throughout the day. 😳

The alarm on my phone is my friend? If I'm particularly lazy, I put it on the table across the room! It keeps on until I turn it off. Lol!

DP, I am so tired of not getting it done! I'm tired of not being able to answer that very question you posed. I do know that I am intelligent enough to figure it out and care for myself for the long-term. I also know that for me, there's so much more involved, on a much deeper level than intelligence. I know that sounds vague and broad, but I don't think my personal "stuff" needs to be shared here. I have shared this before, pretty sure on one of your posts, and I will share it again. This is what my mother used to tell me when she would see that I wasn't taking care of myself: "You need to take care of yourself the same way you take care of your family, your kids, your husband etc. " I know you get out there when it's snowing or snowed and shovel the drive for David. I'm asking you to make sure you shovel the snow for yourself also. Figure yourself into the equation when you're handing out care. ❤

My dear sweet Becky…I support you 100% as I know you support us. Your mother had the best advice, as most mothers do!!! Treat yourself like you treat others. I know for a fact how loving you treat people because I’ve been on the receiving end of your kindness and love recently. 💖💖 You know what to do and how, now it’s just getting to it and there’s no one else that can but you. So please, please, please do what you need to feel your best and don’t retract!!! Beautiful Becky at her best is my prayer for you. 🥰🙏
