Hubby and I are dealing with this nightmare about the baby. The news continues to get worse. The baby has few "functioning brain cells" and will need 24/7 care. The baby's sister is in foster care. The baby's father will have his trial in March or april. The baby's mother is on her own to use all the drugs she wants. I wish walls could talk to get the true story. I feel like there has been a death in our family. This is not who we are. We are nurturing, loving and caring when it comes to the little ones. I am so glad that my Dad is not alive to see this, cause he would be positively livid. The local TV channels carried the story last night. I did tell the main family members about what was going on- I wanted them to hear it from me and not the grapevine or the news. Of course, everyone was saddened and shocked. I have made contact with a support group for "Shaken Baby Syndrome" in hopes it will help me to cope with this horrific act. I sent 2 Christian medals to the PICU and asked that they be place on the baby's incubator and when they talk to him to tell him Grammy Toots and Pappy Ralph are praying for him. Many heartfelt Thanks for all the support and Prayers. It's all in the good Lords hands. ((((HUGS))) to all
