Good morning!

I just found three buddy requests that I did not know I had, sorry it took so long to respond but I thought that buddy requests would show up in my notifications box, did not know I had to go hunting for them! Anyway, having a good morning after a very poor night. Nothing to do with eating or anything, just a heated (loud) discussion with my mother about this diet I am on. After she saw the amount of fat intake that was involved she proceeded to set me straight and gave me all of the data on how bad fat was for you and how she has avoided it all of her life and I simply pointed out how much avoiding fat all of her life has helped her out since she takes 15 prescription meds, all of the diseases that round out metabolic syndrome -high blood pressure, two stints in her heart, high cholesterol and Type two diabetes when she turned 50..........aaaaaannnnd that's when the fight started! Yikes! I know, I should have just kept my mouth shut, but seriously, if the low fat crap we have been fed with a shovel for the last 40 years worked, why is obesity reaching epidemic proportions right now??? In my opinion, our bodies were designed to eat a certain diet and we did it for millions of years and as hunter gatherers we did not spend a whole lot of time counting calories back then, it was not necessary, we ate what we were designed to eat because there was nothing else. 10,000 years ago we settled in and began cultivating crops, 60 years ago we started mass producing food, after 50 years of eating this pap we are the most unhealthy generation yet and it's getting worse. We are not designed to eat this stuff. Anyway, that's my rant for the day and I will be dodging Mom for a few days.

Edit: This is eating my brain - A cow can stand around in a pasture all day and eat nothing but grass, they don't work out, they don't run, they amble to get water and then lay under a shade tree to take a nap, then they eat some more. With unlimited grass and water and constant eating they do not become obese, they do not lose weight. They are designed to eat this way. When we want them to put on fat, what do we do?? We feed them grains - corn, wheat,oats we add sugar and they get fat. If grains and sugar are the ingredients WE use to fatten up our food sources......why would we eat it and expect to stay slim???????? When we eat what we are designed to eat we will be as healthy as our environment will allow us to be.
