My diet is going to hell in a hand basket. Stress eating. New depression meds have me in an awful brain fog. Until I get leveled out- just need to try to focus. Hubby saw the surgeon yesterday and is going to have surgery in January. The surgeon said that he rarely surgery, but Ralph has done everything he would suggest. He has a really bad pinched nerve. I have a lot of mixed emotions. Glad that they finally agree to do something. Ralph can get back to his old self with less pain and have a better quality of life. Scared because of past surgical procedures-he does not do well. Post op infections, severe respiratory arrests from codeine and morphine (which they are aware of). Plus, he gets depression afterward- (crying). Plus at 80 years old- there are so many things that can happen. The surgeon said he may get 60-70% relief from the surgery and he would do the best he could. There may be a small piece of metal inserted to keep the vertebra separated and he would remove the arthritic bone spurs. Keep him your prayer please.
