Update on my brother: he has been moved to Baptist Hospital, which includes a medical school. They removed his ventilator and feeding tube. He is able to talk and ate something yesterday. The open wound that the infection killed tissue that had to be removed is quite large on his neck. The doctor said the plan is to make sure the infection is taken care of before any plastic surgery. It is going to be a long road ahead of IV antibiotics, surgeries and more for him, but I am so grateful they are controlling and getting rid of infection that can kill him. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Prayers work: at the first hospital a PA said he was not showing the septic shock he should have been having. She was impressed that he was doing so well to have this serious infection which usually she would see septic shock kind of symptoms. I told her I believed it was The Lord working through all the prayers for him. I know God is working for our good and His glory.
Please keep praying for him. I am really learning a lot about myself through this crisis as well. God is doing great things in hard times as well as good times. Keeping the faith.
