Of course, I was drawn to take pictures of the roses! I wish I could show more pictures in a single post, but you'll have to believe me that it was beautiful! There were so many roses planted at the edges of the fields. If the grapes were not so beautiful, this post would be totally roses... White, red, orange... Blends... So stunning! The most perfect place to get steps in!  

The roses are there to protect the vines.

Erq, during our first visit here in 2008, we happened to stumble upon a 500 year old celler. We tasted a couple wines that were offered and brought home two bottles of the best wine I've had in my life. Maybe it was just the romantic memory, but it was very special! We saved the bottles as decorations for years and years until I was in a purging mood and ditched them. 😁 No bringing any home for us anymore, since we just have our carry ons, for travel now, but we have our memories of this walk to keep, which is pretty cool!

I read the link and learned stuff! If the condition of many of the rose bushes was an indication, this has been a very rough year for those caring for the vines. Although the blooms were beautiful, most of the bushws were quite diseased especially from black spot. It has been such a horribly cold and wet summer here. I'm guessing 2021 will not be a good year for wine... As it has also been a rotten year for many other reasons for the world. 😢

Oh, John! Yes! Grapes with sweet taste... Beautiful music! Some were a bit on the sour side, but the fresh wonderful flavor was beautiful! There were some white that were my favorite and some white that were my least favorite! Maybe one kind of the dark purple were my favorite... Just too hard to tell! 😁 ❤️ Unforgettable... even if I can't remember what was best!  

So, in other words....it was fertilizing day?! LOL ;-)

Mmmmmmm... I've never had blue grapes before. Very interesting! They look like blueberries!
