Look away Erq (I'm using paper plates and plastic!) and those squeamish about to organ meats. Lunch today was beef tongue, smashed potatoes, mixed veggies and lemonade. Didn't finish the tongue, but certainly ate all of my potatoes!

I grew up on a farm and when we would butcher we used every piece of the animal my mother loved tongue

Tongue is delicious food. It was always my birthday dinner choice when I was a kid. Tongue in raisin sauce. It's very tender.

Erika, that's one of the things I like about tongue, very tender. Raisin sauce, might have to try that. I usually have it with mole, but this time I didn't want to take the time to make it. 😊

Luv beef tongue, we stew ours, chill slice thin & serve like deli cold cuts. Flavor us like pot roast, but more tender not as stringy.

ACBelle, so sorry for the late response. 😕 Yes, chilled in a sandwich is also so tasty. We're currently enjoying the last of the last tongue this week. Next week we'll have beef liver, maybe. 😊
