Spark I used to be able to read and write like that. Sōgana style. I miss calligraphy. 

Another beautiful meal. Beautiful calligraphy. Brings back pleasant memories of penmanship & calligraphy practice. Love the control & precision required for the perfect character(s). Also, enjoyed old English calligraphy for DYI greeting cards & invitation projects. Now it's all virtual. I miss the feel of pen, pencil to paper. The click of the laptop keys are all I get these days.

Tai, exactly. It was funny this Jewish dude made his version of bibimbap using Ashkenazi meal leftovers, potato kugel and all. Instead of rice, he used kasha. 

ACB, calligraphy was required in school. We all had ink stone and ink stick, and ground our own ink. In HK, I marveled at all sorts of fancy ink stones at calligraphy stores. Never forgot the aroma. Do you miss it too? My grandma was a master calligrapher. She used to send me letters written in the ancient cursive, I often had trouble deciphering them🤣🤣 

trackin64, thank you, I’m glad you noticed, I just snuck it there in the photo.… believe it or not, this was a textbook we used in high school. I brought it here. I enjoyed the calligraphy class, until I was told I had no gift for it and received a poor grade😭 Why don’t they just let me enjoy it???

LISfifty, making something edible out of leftovers is fun but difficult, isn’t it? Especially when we are watching calories… I try not to waste food. I need to learn to shop wiser. I miss my giant dog, he ate anything and never got sick. He was my roomba.
