You guys are so sweet! Thank you for enjoying my flowers with me. I do love them so very much!!!❤️❤️❤️ The east side of our house is lined with the bushes. The oldest is only about five years and some I planted just last year. So... They aren't very mature and are still changing color. Yes, the pinks will inevitably become mostly blue because of the acidity of our soil here in the NW in Washington. The first picture is of a bush that flowered hot pink last year. I do love the variegated colors in a single bush, but they will soon all be blues and purples in the future. I can't say I am a green thumb, wifey! A little fertilizer, lots of water, and not too much sun is all they need to be beautiful. The one on the southern part of the east side got really burned in the 105 degree plus heat we had a while back no matter hoe much water I gave the poor thing. But the other bushes were just beginning to bloom and were not as impacted. Anyway, thanks so much!!!! It means a lot to me that I can share my hobby! Mental health helps so much when we are striving to improve our physical health!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Princess, I will probably post a "flex" pic for my two year anniversary of when I hit my goal in a couple weeks. 😊 I've got a tiny bit of time to get the muscles showing up better. 😁 But... I think you've got all the motivation you need looking at your picture!  

And for everyone who has good memories connected to hydrangeas, thank you for sharing! I never lived in a moderate enough climate before coming here as an adult, but I loved them the minute I saw them! 

John, the dark pink/purple between the two blue bushes is my favorite too!!!! It is already 4 years old and hanging onto that magenta color really well. This year it is more blue than it has been in the past. I suspect it will end up a dark purple. I wish I could keep some of the pinks, but it really seems to take a lot of care to alter the ph of soil that is naturally so acidic. I am enjoying it while it lasts! 😁  

grin0556, I post multiple pictures from my journal using my computer rather than the app on my phone. I only have the free version of FS, so nothing fancy. You can also post a picture using the phone app by choosing a meal and adding a picture. I've have plenty of "lunches" that were actually flowers! 😁 And welcome!!!

Do you prune your hydrangeas? I have a blue one that wants to be pink, so I have to give it aluminum to keep it blue. If you want pink, give them lime. Mine gets too big, so I cut it back every year, but then the branches are floppy. It is in a raised bed and needs water every single day in the summer or it droops.  

Thank you so much, everyone! ❤️❤️ ❤️ JosieSchmosie, I have very little experience with caring for these bushes. I mostly deal with my roses. I have pretty much just planted these five hydrangeas and let them be. My first and largest I have tried to use the suggested soil enrichment to make the blooms a brighter blue. They were a little pale, but I am a real novice about other care. You've inspired me to do a little more research and see if I can't keep some pink flowers! 😁 I haven't done much pruning except cutting back one that was crowding another bush. I planted them too close together. I sure didn't know
