Happy Monday, FS friends! This is week #18 and there is one less pound of me. Yahoo! The weekly average seems to have settled in on 1.25 lbs per week. Yes, I wish it was more, but what I really wish is that I had started here a year and 18 weeks ago. My daily average so far in June is 1124 calories, less than in some past weeks but the way I see it, my calorie estimates are not always going to be completely accurate, so as long as it seems like I’m “fairly under” what I need then that should be good enough to create a deficit. So I am absolutely not complaining about the pace. So far this strategy is working, and I just have to remain determined and be patient (not one of my strong suits). Seeing posts from other folks who stuck with it and eventually reached their goals is very encouraging. Also food logging is a firmly entrenched habit at this point. I don’t get tired of it, and in fact it gives me a sense of control knowing I’ve calculated the numbers for the day.

Yesterday we made sugar-free strawberry jam with a mix of fresh and frozen fruit that came out pretty good. This is a better option for the #1 Dad in the house who needs to watch his sugar.
