On the road and not a lot of healthy choices at fast foods.
If y’all know any low calorie meals at any fast foods, please send them my way. I would appreciate it!

I have done the bagged salad you can get at a grocery store. Mix it in the bag and use a plastic fork.

Salad, dressing on the side. Protein bar/shake (low sugar) from the quickie mart. Banana. Apple. Burger, no bun/sauce. Grilled chicken, same. Or just fast.

Same suggestions as above and you can also pack yourself some hardboiled eggs, peanut butter on celery logs, nuts, cheese, avocado with skin on and crackers, tuna in a pouch with crackers. When I had to travel I ate lots of stuff not on my regular meal plan cuz ino anything was better than fast food.

pack those single serving hummus to go with raw veggies or pita. lots of things dont need refrigeration.

I used to travel for work, and easily maintained 120 pounds by never setting foot in a fast food joint. If you're driving, you can stop at a grocery store instead. Stay in the produce section and grab a to-go salad, and a few pieces of fruit, or stop by their deli section and have a 1/2 sandwich or small sub made. Definitely avoid any drive-thru fried food. If you do hit those places, only a salad will work. Even Starbucks sells salads.

Taking a cooler to put a few things in like one ounce pacs of cheese, hard boiled eggs, a few slices of deli cheese and roast beef, fruit.

I did wonder why anybody would stop at a fast food joint, if they are looking for healthy produce to eat. I mean, she knows they just don't sell that right?? Glass of milk if you are lucky and everything else is pure rubbish..????

if you're on a road trip, sometimes you have very few options and hours between stops. don't be so judgmental. there are ways.

Sheesh there are some condescending creatures on here! If you are doing drive thru's, grilled chicken sandwiches are really not too bad, its the fried aspect that gets ya. Salads already mentioned too. taco bell provides the smallest portions of any fast food places i've noticed! you can get a taco for only 150 calories, and still pretty filling

You're speaking my language! I'm on the road a lot for work. I am the KING of gas station eating. Couple things... I love the big chains, like LOVES, PILOT, QT, ETC. They have great options. I load up on P3 packs, fresh salads, hard boiled eggs, beef jerky. Those are my go to moves. So, I don't eat traditional meals when I travel. I stay away from fast food because it's to easy for me to get a burger and fries, rather than ordering a salad or something. So, it sounds crazy, but I crush it with gas station food... NO SHAME IN MY GAME!🤪😝

Kids meals might not be the most nutritious but they help with portion control! Grilled chicken, skip fries, have a fruit cup or apple slices or milk instead. Salads can be ok but still have to be careful. I didn't read other comments yet so if I duplicated sorry about that.

and you can always peel the fried coating most stuff off as a last resort. Just do it all at once and toss it so you're not tempted.

In same boat (rv)right now. At least I can stop and make a healthier wrap but it does get challenging. Hang in there,when we fast food it, I usually get grilled chicken sandwich no mayo. I take off top bun.

If you are not regularly eating fast foods it can send your tummy in a twirl. Not how you want to feel when traveling in a car. Choose options you are familiar with on a regular basis. If it is chicken choose chicken not a fish sandwich or hamburger or taco. I always planned ahead but if you are on the road do the best you can do.

not a fan of their politics but Chick-fil-a has a good selection of grilled stuff. Whataburger has grilled chicken sandwich and wrap.

Go to a Supermarket-deli instead. They have tuna salad, green salads, soups, sandwiches, pita chips, chicken tenders, zero cal drinks, etc. We don't do fast-foods on the road. We either pack our picnic(s), or stop at Supermarkets and buy a gallon or two of h20 and other necessities. =)

I've noticed more of the bigger gas stations have started offering more fruits. When I'm on longer road trips I get trail mix or a protein bar, apples (which I wash thoroughly before eating, lol), and string cheese, mostly. Not meals per se, but filling, low cal, and high fiber.

Prioritize protein . Add eggs when you can. Pick up protein powder for a instant drink.
