Becky, congratulations on getting such a catch inside and out! I was blessed also.💕 We also got married 3 days away from my husband’s BD. 🙃 We got married in the church with the meanest known priest on earth! My priest didn’t realize he’d be on vacation and was so sorry he gave us the church free. Sure enough, I wasn’t allowed to use my Bible passages that had meaning to me, and he added in our vows that I should be so grateful to my husband, I should be licking his feet. I am in shock to this day and that’s one priest going the other way!😠 Talk about a turn off to all things holy! Why was he allowed to be a priest? Anyway it didn’t stop there, just like you... maybe that makes a happy marriage a hard beginning. We’ve been married 38 1/2 yrs yet, we were together for five years before that in sin.🙃 I wish I knew you back then, enjoy your leftovers, your cake sounds delicious!😋🌸💕🌺

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. ❤ I was very fortunate/ blessed/ lucky to met and fall in love with this man. I was engaged at the time I met Joe. It was at a Dodger game. First impression- Joe was an alcoholic (he wasn't & isn't). I really enjoyed he company, so by the 7th inning stretch I decided I wasn't going to marry the other guy (very unstable relationship) and by the end of the game I didn't want to be in my current relationship at all. About a week later Joe asked me out. At the end of the night I told him I didn't want to be in a relationship, just needed time to be by myself. He was fine with that. On the drive home I gave him a compliment on his beard and he replied, "does that mean I still have a chance with you"? We both laughed and have been together ever since. 💕 

Shrew, that's terrible that priest behaved that way! It's the building of the marriage afterwards that matters, but it is nice to have good memories of your special day too. Have you ever thought of renewing your vows? I had our 40th all planned out, on paper, but of course that didn't happen. 😕 Our kids did have a surprise anniversary party for us 3 years ago for our 37th. They used their father's birthday as the reason they were planning a little surprise birthday dinner at a restaurant, while all the time it was an anniversary party for us. 🥳  

I love that story! Thank God baseball is so long and boring. 🤣🤣🤣 

How wonderful Becky, your kids sound great!💕🌺 I have almost no family and married a man with a brother, and that’s it. So we have few relatives and we both were raised not really celebrating holidays. 🙃 I am seeing how that kind of life is OK, but having celebrations is a time when one can hug, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company. Wish I could do that part of life over again. Which reminds me it’s Father’s Day coming up and I am shopping tonight for sure!👍 Have a Terrific Tuesday Becky!🌸🌼 

Jen, this was the best non-boring baseball game I ever attended. 😁 We used to try to go to a Dodger game every year around our anniversary. I even wanted to buy the actual seats we were sitting in 9n the day we met, when they renovated the stadium, but they were so expensive! Wouldn't that have been so cool?  

Shrew, I grew up being around a lot of family, even though it was only my mom, sister and myself in our household. My mother had a large family and there were always celebrations. When I married into Joe's family, the family get togethers of course now doubled in size and frequency. A lot of work, but equal in fun. Have a good time shopping for Father's Day. Joe already received his combo gifts (bday & Father's day) from the kids - Sitka shirts, a weather station and really cool monocular. So depending on the weather, Joe will be out in his insect repellent shirt, spying on nature for Father's Day. 🤪 

Becky your story of meeting Joe is quite something!! WOW! No doubt you made the right decision!! ❤️
