My old friend and I used to do this. I think the theory was to not feel unmotivated by showing "failure". However I now feel I need to see those patterns to see underlying causation.

If my weight goes up, I don’t log it. It doesn’t do me any favors to feel like I’ve failed yet again. I have lost 22 lbs. since New Year’s, but I haven’t logged it because I’m still a few ounces heavier than my lowest point last year. But, I am looking forward to the numbers continuing to go down. ☺️ Best of luck!

Yep, I mostly logged the downward weekly trend until recently though in my weight app I have my daily weight for practically every day since I started. Now I log the gains and the losses because I am training myself to be less emotionally attached to daily fluctuations and because I think more people need to see that it's normal and should focus on the long-term.

You have to make an accurate record of your weight and what you ate. This way once you start loosing weight you know exactly amount of calories and exercise that got you there.

If you're not getting the answer you want from your scale, it's probably the scales fault. Try dropping it from a great height. Adjust your weight accordingly to account for any malfunctions.

Make sure you try to weigh at the same time and day only once a week. Otherwise, you might feel discouraged. Also, your weight fluctuates throughout the day.

I weigh everyday & log whatever it may be. I understand it will fluctuate both directions.

I weigh every day but I don’t change the numbers on FS every time it goes up or down a 0.2 pounds. That is just too compulsive for me. If it goes up or down half a pound I log it. I can go days without changing the number and that works for me.

I do daily even if it goes up. I then check to see what might have caused it. Food choices and lack of physical exercise are what I discovered. Sometimes it goes up a pound or so and then drops way down the next day. What ever you decide try not to get discouraged it doesn’t mean that your not doing the right things it’s letting you see where you’ve been and where your going. Keep up the hard work it will pay off!😊
