I thought I was doing so well all week with not snacking and getting to the gym and then Saturday hit. I went with my husband and a friend to donate blood at a large donation drive locally. It was such a large donation site that we were all separated and sent to different areas. Unbelievably, I was the first one done and sent to have a snack and drink before leaving. Well, I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for my husband and friend with candy, cookies, pretzels, Cheez-its, mini ice cream, juice...........you get the picture. I was through a pretzel and Cheez-it before my friend even arrived at the table, then someone at the table got ice cream for everyone. I guess I was thinking, "well I just gave blood so this doesn't count", but we all know that is not true. Then I get on the scale this morning expecting to have lost weight because I was so good all week and can't believe I didn't even loose a pound. I didn't gain anything either but what makes me think I would loose weight after my snacking binge yesterday? I feel like two different people, one that tries so hard to be healthy and one that doesn't care. I guess I'll start over again today and hope I can stay on a healthier track today. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Sweet friend, I can so relate. Sometimes it's so easy to stay on track and eat health consciously & mindfully, and others it's so hard. As we learned at the retreat, beating yourself up or punishing yourself rarely helps, just be curious about it and move on. You are at quite a low weight already, so your body may be telling you that you are right where you need to be -- you're already perfect in my mind! Xoxox

I've never given blood - for some reason the two times I have tried they've said I'm anemic. But I can imagine having lost fluid OUT you'd definitely feel an instinctive protective need to have it replaced by what ever is available so if it's cheezits, so be it. I don't know how that works - I've seen where there are always cookies or sugar foods - and wonder why. Why not fresh fruit? If sugar is needed after losing blood, why not offer a healthy replacement for people who are donating their blood to save other lives. Food for thought. Just not cheezits ;-)
