Today I am making the decision to focus on just two things: eating only when I'm hungry and paying attention to portion size. Truly practicing these things should lead to a healthy lifestyle that will help me eventually achieve and maintain a healthy weight for the rest of my life. I will continue to be active since I've always done that and I enjoy exercising. I have been reflecting on my habits and I really do eat just because I like to and I snack too frequently. I am moving forward and being mindful about what I put into my body and why.

Yup and I am doing well sticking to it so far today. I caught myself several times going to eat when I wasn’t hungry so I drank water instead. One day at a time until it becomes a lifelong habit!

Also, what I have noticed is that the higher my protein intake (100grams+ per day) the less hungry I am and the less I find myself snacking.

I find eating low carb my hunger level is lower. Also restricted time eating helps a lot.

ruthe1213: It's funny how we're all different. I'm the exact opposite. I find I do best if I'm smart about having just the right amount of carbs. Too few and I'm weak, hungry, and dizzy. Too many and I can't stay within my RDI. My biggest downfall is mindless eating. I think getting control of that will lead to success for me without doing anything drastic or unsustainable. Glad you found what works for you.
