When is it that our culture started showing their affection through giving of food. This is very annoying. In my younger years, my mother would always send me food. I was in the military and she would send me cookies and Italian bread, then when I got out and came home she would want me to come over all the time and eat – up to her death she wanted to cook for me and bake for me. Now my daughter sends me food almost daily and her mother sends her food. Everyone in our family is overweight at least a few pounds. This is just madness. Now my daughter’s mother-in-law to be has decided to show how much she likes us by baking and sending bread, muffins and more. I appreciate the affection, don’t get me wrong, but this is really kind of nuts, isn’t it?
