Another fasting day under my belt & on to the 5 part of IF 5:2! I'm feeling good about this WOE. This morning I have my first paddle tennis match of the season... wish me luck! And, my doggie goes to the "spa" to get her hair & nails done :).

Not much else to report, but did I tell you I signed up to go to a retreat on Mindful Eating for binge eaters? I leave a week from Sat for the 5 day retreat in AZ. It's being led by my guru (mine & my Angel's, that is!), Michelle May, who wrote the book "Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat" that I've spoke so much about & has helped me tremendously as I try to focus on eating mindfully and build my healthy road in that direction. I'm getting very excited about going, but a bit nervous at the same time as I'm going alone. But don't you worry, you'll be hearing all about it!

Now getting back to this one day at a time, I'll begin in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And throughout this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite, and emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. Today, I'm grateful for each of you, my family & IRL friends, the continuing beautiful weather in the northeast, the start of the paddle season, & that I have the health & wealth to live this life I love (including going on this upcoming retreat)! xoxox

Is paddle tennis like ping pong? I haven't heard of that before. Anyhow, I hope you have a good match. Too bad there isn't a place where you could bring your dog for a wash and get a spa treatment for yourself too! That would be a good day. The retreat sounds like it would be great for tips and ideas to help stay on your plan. Enjoy your Thursday.

Awesome about you going to this retreat. I will be waiting to hear back from you on how it went. Glad to hear the 5:2 diet seems to be gong well. On the days you fast do you have nothing at all or a limited amount of calories?

We won our match :)... which always puts a smile on my face! Paddle tennis is played outdoors in the winter with a solid racquet a little bigger & heavier than a ping pong racquet, and the ball is similar to a racquetball ball. You play on a court thats about 1/2 the size of a tennis court & screened in. Like racquetball or squash, you can play the ball off the screens but don't have to. Otherwise, its similar to & scored like tennis. Diane, on my fasting days, I have 500 calories. Since I had my massage yesterday, it seemed only fait to my doggie! oxoxo

You sound really happy Angel. I would ask you to keep good notes from May's seminar but you are already the Queen of the recorders. Yes, she is my guru too but you're the one who encouraged me to actually read the book .. beyond the online quickie article that really changed my Woe. Be sure and grab lots of tidbits for us to gobble up when you return. You're going to have a great time - the way you inspire and encourage so many of us here I know you will. Remember to take care of your introvert, give her plenty of naps, and remember that you are there for yourself. Leave the caring caretaker person and home and take care of the Angel that you are.

Well look at you, going away on your own and to a 'retreat' of all things - wow, congrats. I hope it is everything you wish for, and that you get answers galore to your questions. Hope doggy looks beautiful, just like the mamma :)
