Ahh...another night of actually sleeping despite pain. I took 2 Tramadol last night and despite being tired enough I guess I was too wound up to go to bed until 2 am.

I'm so tired of the state of this world we're living in, and the constant idiocy driving us all to the brink of insanity. Why are the same battles for equality from my youth still being waged 50 years later? Why are the protections we once had in place now just a shadow?

Having to recognize that there's no retirement, or social security for me to fall back on as those protections were stripped away for most of us starting in the 80's with Reganomics. My 401K was wiped out in the 2007-2008 economic crisis, BUT a 401K was not originally designed to be "THE" only retirement plan for anyone. It was a tax-free or deferred way for employees to save for their retirement when it was recognized that an employer provided Pension didn't necessarily provide enough for decent quality of life after retirement.
