My social life is full of "Food" invitations. SO the best way to deal with it is on invitation day and the day after an extra effors on Intake and excercise is needed. ( a little control during dinner won't go to waste).

I still dont know how to handle the business lunches and event dinners.
Not like you just cant eat.
I try to get a cob salad at the lunches but the events are often buffet with open bar which gets me in trouble.
