A good night's sleep & an early tennis match... the start to a great day! And, a great weekend... oldest son comes homes on Sunday for 3 weeks :)! (I'll try not to think about the fact that then both boys go back to college for the fall semester.) And, younger son finishes his summer internship today.
DH is away for the weekend. For the last 10 years, each year he bikes in the PanMass Challenge which is a 2-day 200 mile charity bike ride for the Jimmy Fund. They ride from Sturbridge, Massachusetts to the end of Cape Cod. It's always the first weekend in August, which is also the weekend every year of my tennis tournament. Fortunately (at least for me), my tennis team has won our local division every year except one, so we've been in that tournament & I've only been able to go watch DH ride that one time. We have tennis matches today & tomorrow, then the semis and finals are on Sunday... if we make them. I'll keep you posted!
But, before I begin my day, my weekend & the tournament, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
And, throughout this one tournament day and each one meal, moment, bite, emotion... and game, set & match :), I'll pray, breathe, journal, express... & play my best. Especially today, I'm grateful for this life I love & the health and energy to play the sport I love, having my oldest home soon & my family together for a few weeks :) and all of you my wonderful FS friends! xoxox
