Good morning all. I’ve been finding it helpful to log before I eat. When I do it after, then it’s already too late. How about you guys, any tips please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💗💗💗💗

Agreed. Most of the day I can do after but towards the end I need to log first ...then I can see OH YAY I have room for that apple...etc

Good morning!! I've found that logging my food in the morning helps me tremendously. I know where I stand for the day and can adjust. Do what works for you.

I’ve been so bad at logging my food, but when I do, I find that logging right before I eat it helps keep me accountable. I put all food away and wash my dishes right after and then make a cup of tea or do something to distract myself from grabbing seconds or a snack. In most cases, I realize I’m totally satisfied within 5-10 minutes after eating, which saves those extra calories for my next meal. Stay strong and focused! Your diet is so healthy and nourishing and you’re doing great! 💖

I do log mine before when possible. Keeps my mind in the game.

Agreed! On days where I'm eating a routine of food, not as vital. On days where I'm distracted, social, having a treat, vital. Currently pondering logging the next three days since well be camping with no cell coverage/internet. Also working hard on being accountable on paper for these days in summer. We'll see 😁

I try to log before as well. I have been struggling during this lock down. I have gained all my weight back. UGH!!

I eat the same thing most mornings and weekday lunches, just different combos. I take a lot of pictures of my food so I don't forget what I ate and will log it after, but sometimes, like yesterday, I forgot I ate cheese and it put me a little over since I had planned to eat less but I had ravioli. TL:DR it depends. 🤣

every night i log tomorrows food with a 200 cal window so if i ever feel like eating a fruit or some nuts i wont go overboard

I log in advance so I know roughly what I'm having for each meal and it helps that we have the same meals 2-3 days in a row so it's much easier tracking. I always include at least 2 snacks for the evening so I'm not wondering what to have and I plan ahead for those more indulgent meals over the weekend too. I try to keep my calories low in the week to allow more for weekends, but still keeping within the daily average I have in mind for that week. Not always perfect, but keeping track of everything helps me understand the fluctuations in weight. I do like to take a break from logging every now and then though for a few days or up to two weeks as I did recently.

In the beginning I log as I go and then I start planing in advance for the rest of my day so I can figure what to make with the calories I have left.

I do the same. I also plan out dinner in advance. I know the approximate weights and measurements for the few meals we have every week. I can go ahead and log that then a protein shake if needed. If I have calories left then I can go ahead and have a snack. That’s the only way I can keep at the 1500 I normally allow myself.

Yes it's nice to plan ahead. It's satisfying to even take a day to make macro meals for the week ahead even if it's one meal for each day. I tend to go for these during my weakest points of the day so I dont ruin my eating plans.

I find it particularly helpful to log before my last meal of the day. It helps me make better food choices and appropriate portions...

I can't log ahead ever. I log very soon after eating and prior to eating again I'll do a quick check to see where I'm at calorie -wise to stay on track. Even when I don't stay on track, it's never on accident from not being aware. I'm never caught off guard.

Hello friends, I find that GoMacro MacroBar Organic Vegan Protein Bars - Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bars are THE great meal replacement .... 50/50 fat/protein ...careful they are addictive :)

I log a day ahead, if possible. It helps me plan the day.

Hi Chestnut hope you and your mom are well, always nice to hear from you. Thanks. Thanks guys for sharing what you do. I have learned a lot from all of you. When I was logging after, it was too late for me to be aware of what and how much I was eating. Just by seeing how many calories I was about to consume, gave me a choice, whether to eat that much or not. I’ve only recently been doing this and I find it to be very helpful. Again thank you all so much for sharing what you do. I am grateful for you🙏🙏🙏🙏💗💗💗💗🌸🌸🌸🌸
