Day 27 (Week 4): 10 TO 30 POUNDS BY November OR BUST

Good morning all you wonderful health-minded lovely FS peoples!!!
I mentioned health-minded because most of the people I hang out with on here are not obsessed with the way they look but how the feel and their health. I read a journal today talking fairly harshly about being healthy instead of being obsessed with your looks. Personally I have ALWAYS felt society puts way too much pressure on us to look skinny. I have always been curvy and I LOVE it that way. But there is a line between healthy and curvy and extremely obese for health reasons. There is a ton of scientific evidence out there that being extremely obese is just not good for us. It makes our heart work too hard and more often than not it affects our insulin cycle, not to mention joint and back issues and the lists goes on and on. And so even though I sometimes obsess about the scale for me it's all about being healthy. Looking closer to MY (not society's) ideal is a wonderful SIDE benefit, not at all the main goal. It's also an easy measure of progress as is measuring with a tape measure. Anyway on to other things :)

Week four is almost done....my goodness!! I upfluct about half a lb and I am excited!! Why? Well Tom stopped hanging around the yard and finally came inside and I am only up 1/2 a lb and all the days leading up to his visit I was LOSING!! How weird is that?? That probably means 250 by next week's end, easy, baby!!

I am looking forward to Yoga tonight to work some muscles and stretch out others!

Obviously I did not resist the scale man BUT I am still upbeat and positive about it all, so it's all good!

Floor Goal: 250 (13lbs down from the beginning of the challenge, 16.5 down from when I first started watching in August, and 2.5 from now.)
Mid-range: 245 Weigh in at 245 for Thanksgiving with my folks, which is 18lbs from the beginning of the challenge. 21.5 from when I first started and 7.5 from now. Over Half way there!!!!
Ceiling goal: 235 by the 30th of November. I can SO do this. I have over 2 months left :) 28 from challenge start, 17.5 from now and 31.5 from when I first started watching. (I can just imagine, 1 year from now I will be at least 50 - 75lbs lighter How exciting is that! I am actually starting to be able to feel my ultimate goal weight is possible even though I still have a lot of work to do.)

1st things first. Get myself to 250 (almost there!!!! WOW), then 245 then worry about the others!

I couldn't agree with you more. When I first started making changes I was only immediately interested in my health. I wanted to get my HDL up and my LDL down. It was only after I did that that I started to focus on my weight. Not that you can't work on both at the same time, but I do better if I'm can focus completely. I've got my biggest health worry out of the way and now I can focus on weight (which as you pointed out carries it's own health issues as well). Am I ever going to look like the guy on the cover of Men's Health? Probably not, but that doesn't mean I can't be fit and healthy. Yogi... isn't that the one that liked the pic-a-nic baskets? LOL Have fun at yoga.

I am also a big Yoga fan, and have been practicing a lot lately. Your chart shows a slow and steady decline which should set you up for a lasting weight loss. Keep up the good spirits and excellent work! Thank you for your support!

You are SO right about how it is all about being healthy and not about being skinny! Have to get healthy to lose weight anyway, not the other way around. ;) Rooting you on for 250 by next weekend! WOOT!

Well it's official I have a head cold and I am skipping yoga. All my stomach wants is comfort food. I think I will go make some mac and cheese as healthily as I can (whole grain noodles) Cheese and smart balance spread.....
