I gave myself permission to take some time away from food tracking and focus on food. Time to read, watch a dvd movie and get some fresh air while pulling spring weeds. Isolation has not been difficult for our household. Today, I'll start tracking again.

I commend our grocery chain Fry's (Kroger) for their efforts to help the senior community. We have the store to ourselves from 6 am to 7 am Monday thru Thursday. They also have a full time employee sanitizing our grocery carts, so the consumers can have trust that the virus isn't being transmitted.

I've regained 3 pounds during the last 3 weeks. I am of the opinion that mental health is more important at this moment than successfully losing a pound or two. Staying positive and being socially responsible are critical and I am doing my part, as best I can. Panic buying has led to shortages at the grocery store and limits of only 1 gallon of milk, or one dozen eggs, for example,forces us to shop more than once a week. That puts me at risk of exposure. But so far... so good.

Best of health to our FS family during this crazy time. Stay positive and stay healthy. Be supportive of those around you, and work to keep frustration at a minimum. I find working in the garden to be a great therapy. Also, taking time to prepare a lovely meal to share is theraputic. Throw caution to the wind and splurge on a glass of wine while you slice and dice.
